You can have any number of personal + team workspaces under one account. Pay only for the team ones.
What you're paying for
The actual cost of running this for you.
Most software pricing is opaque on purpose. Ours isn't. Here's what a team workspace actually costs us each month, rough numbers:
Compute (Vercel)
server functions + bandwidth, amortized across the platform
~$0.30
Database (Neon Postgres)
storage + queries, very small per workspace
~$0.20
File storage
documents, scales with usage
~$0.50
Email (Resend)
invites, password resets, etc.
~$0.05
Domain + DNS
fixed cost spread across all workspaces
~$0.05
Our coffee + bills + sanity
enough so we can keep building this
~$3.90
Total per team workspace≈ $5.00 / mo
If usage spikes (lots of file storage, big team), the cost edges up slightly. We won't raise your price for that. If something has to change, we'll tell you what and why before it does.
FAQ
The questions we'd ask.
Is the personal tier really free forever?
Yes. If you only use a personal workspace, you'll never see a charge. We don't even ask for a credit card.
What happens if I outgrow the team plan?
The team plan goes up to 25 members. If you're bigger than that, email us — we'll figure out a fair price together. Not $20/seat, not a sales call.
Do you take a cut of my Bill.com revenue?
No. We don't see your invoice amounts as money flowing through us. Blocks just reads what's in your Bill.com account and shows it back to you. Your money is your money.
What about my data if you shut down?
We'll give you a 90-day window and an export of everything in plain JSON. We'd rather not shut down — but if we ever do, we won't trap you.
Why not free for teams too?
Honest answer: a free team tier gets abused (spam workspaces, bots, scraping). $5 is small enough to not hurt a real team but high enough to keep the noise out.
Open source?
Not yet. Maybe eventually. We're a small operation right now and need to keep the surface manageable while we iterate.
